WEEKEND RECAP - Sept 28 & 29 2019

GULLS @ Pro Hockey Life Harbour Storm

Week 2 of the regular season saw the GULLS on the road for a pair of games. First up, the team travelled over to Cole Harbour Place, home of the Pro Hockey Life Harbour Storm (and about a million fruit flies), for a very physical game. The Storm ended up racking up 38 penalty minutes, in which time the Gulls capitalized and came away with a decisive 6-1 victory. AJ Metlej, Jake Prince and Owen “Pepto Bismol Goring Lid of Fame for Player of the Game” Phillips all earned their first NSMBHL goals!

GULLS @ Wearwell Bombers

In the Sunday matinee, The GULLS returned to the Pictou County Wellness Centre - where just a few months ago they earned their 5th provincial championship - to take on the Wearwell Bombers. A back and forth affair ended with the GULLS on top, and capped off another 4 point weekend! Callum Aucoin and Quinn Kennedy also both netted their first NSMBHL goals, while Jake Price earned himself Player of the Game honours!

A considerable challenge is on tap for next weekend in a pair of home games that see the GULLS face 4-0 Accel Physio and the 3-1 Novas. Game time on Saturday vs Accel is at 6:45 PM— Sunday vs Novas is 11:45 AM. Both games at the SMC.
