COACHING STAFF

IAN HAVERSTOCK - HEAD COACH

​Ian joins the Gulls following a successful season as an assistant coach with the Charlie's Pizza South Shore Mustangs of the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League. Previous to that his coaching career included 8 years with the Sir John A Macdonald High School Hockey team, 5 of which he was the head coach. He has also been involved with the Hockey Nova Scotia High Performance program. Ian Currently works as a crane operator and lives in Timberlea with his beautiful daughter Bella. Ian is thrilled to be joining a great program like the Gulls and is looking forward to a successful season!





 




 

CRAIG PRIOR - ASSISTANT COACH

Craig came up in the Bedford Minor Hockey Association and played for the Halifax MacDonald's of the NSMMHL before being drafted by and playing for the St.Jean Lynx of the QMJHL.

Craig has coached at various hockey schools locally and in the United States including the prestigious Elite Hockey Training Center in Northfield, Vermont. Craig is also on the coaching staff for Hockey Nova Scotia's High Performance Program.

Craig has coached at various competitive levels for the Sackville Minor Hockey Association and has been a lead instructor for SMHA Skills Development Team the last four years.

Craig works for MolsonCoors Canada and lives in BeaverBank with his beautiful wife Kari and their 12 year old son Jacob.


 

 


CHAD ANDERSON - ASSISTANT COACH

Chad has recently moved back to Nova Scotia from Toronto after completing a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). He grew up playing minor hockey in Cole Harbour, went on to play midget AAA for the Dartmouth Subways before leaving to finish high school at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan. He played out his Junior ‘A’ career with the Notre Dame Hounds and Weyburn Red Wings of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Chad continued his hockey career at Norwich University in Vermont, where he won a NCAA Div. III National Championship in 2010 and was named a Reebok All-American. Chad finished his playing career in Germany, after two seasons of professional hockey.

After his playing career, Chad worked at Newbridge Academy as a Strength & Conditioning Coach and coached Newbridge Senators Major Bantam team for two years. He also ran the off season training program for hockey players at Blended Athletics. In Toronto, while attending CMCC, he worked as a Sports Medical Trainer for the Toronto Titans organization.

Chad is set to get married on September 21st, to his fiancee, Jill, who grew up playing in the TASA organization. Chad will be starting his Chiropractic career in the near future.

  

AMANDA MONK - TRAINER

Amanda graduated from Dalhousie University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She has provided medical coverage for various sport teams and events including hockey, football, gymnastics, volleyball, ultimate frisbee and goal ball. She is currently a volunteer with the Heart and Stroke foundation and working as a Kinesiologist at the PhysioLink in Porters Lake. Outside the clinic, she still continues to stay active playing hockey and rugby.
 










 

JACK HARTIGAN - GOALTENDING COACH

Jack is the owner/operator of Finngoalie Training, a well established and highly regarded leader in the field or goalie coaching and development. Jack has worked with several teams in the Maritime Junior League, the NS Major Midget and Major Bantam leagues and is currently a goalie consultant to the Narvik Arctic Eagles (Division 1, Norway).

As the Head of Goaltending Development for Beford Minor Hockey, Jack oversees the development program for one of the largest minor hockey associations in Atlantic Canada. He has also been actively involved as a goaltending coach with the Hockey Nova Scotia (HNS) High Performance Program for a number of years.

Jack has been selected to the Hockey Canada National Coaches Mentorship Program, and it is noteworthy that he was also selected to Finland’s Mentorship Program for five years as well. He has coached at the U17, U18, U20 Hockey Canada Performance of Excellence Goaltender Camp on multiple occasions.

A sought after speaker and presenter at conferencesthroughout North America and Europe, Jack has also been involved with pro and minor pro programs to perform video analysis and teaching with their goaltenders.

Jack currently works with a number of professional goaltenders, in the North American and European leagues, on a year round basis and is currently instructing three major junior goaltenders who play in the QMJHL. With four years of Junior A in the US, followed by four years of Professional Hockey in Europe, his personal playing experience is equally impressive.
