WEEKEND RECAP - Oct 5 & 6 2019

Accel Physio @ GULLS

A 2019 Provincial Final rematch was on deck to kick off week 3 of the regular season as undefeated Accel Physio travelled to the St. Margaret’s Centre to face the undefeated GULLS. In what turned out to be an on the edge of your seat type of game, with 0.8s left on the clock, tied 2-2, Reece Peitzsche (Michael O’Brien on the score sheet) netted the GWG, leaving the GULLS the only remaining undefeated team in the NSMBHL. Keeping us in the game, Ben MacDonald walks away with the Pepto Bismol Goring Lid of Fame.

Novas @ GULLS

The Sunday game, aka “The Battle of The Thes”, saw The GULLS host The Novas at the SMC. In what was expected to be a high intensity game, the boys did not disappoint. With his first NSMBHL goal (a BEAUTY), Eric Halliday secured the first, and eventual game winner. Cooper Flemming turned away 15/15 shots for his first shutout of the season, as well as earning Player of the Game honors.

The league is on break next weekend for Thanksgiving, but games resume the weekend after at home against the Valley and on the road against Truro.
