2019-12-16

Bearcats @ GULLS

In a game that almost never was, the GULLS welcomed the visiting Bearcats to the St. Margaret’s Bay Centre for a Saturday evening tilt. After a lengthy delay due to a power outage, and the game nearly called off, the power ended up coming back, and we were underway! An exciting game start to finish saw the GULLS earn a decisive win and even the series at one a piece! Eric Halliday put in the extra effort this game and earned himself the Pepto Bismol Goring Lid of Fame!

Final - GULLS 6. Bearcats 2. [ BOXSCORE

GULLS @ Accel Physio

Sunday saw the GULLS play Halifax at the “historic” Forum. It’s always an always exciting affair when these two teams play one another, and this was no exception! After a low scoring first period, and a lengthy delay due to an issue with the boards, the second and third periods were back and forth with each team exchanging goals. Regulation ended with a 6-6 tie, forcing OT. A winner couldn’t be decided with 5 more minutes, and we were off to a shootout. Ben MacDonald turned away all 3 shots, where AJ Metlej, as the second shooter for the GULLS,  sniped a beauty and earned himself the pink lid!

Final - GULLS 7. Accel Physio 6. (SO) [ BOXSCORE ]

With 4 more points in the books, the GULLS go into the Holiday break tied for second in the league, with 28 points. The boys are back in action next decade as they will play the Rangers and the Joneljim Cougars on January 4th & 5th.
